These Chaos Knights of Nurgle are the retinue of my General, and as such see a lot of combat. Perhaps my best "Hammer" unit in the army, they are used to support infantry in combat by dealing a lot of damage in combat, while the infantry unit provides other bonuses for ranks, outnumbering etc.
With a formidable capability to deal damage, especially when my Nurgle General joins them, they are crucial to the army.

As this unit is used in just about every game I play, and as they form a centrepiece along with my General, I thought them deserving of as good a paint job as I could do. I kept with the theme of aged metal for the armour as this provides a good base from which to work on the detail. Green was applied to the head and neck armour of the Horses so that the colours of Nurgle are prominently displayed. When these guys charge toward the enemy they want the enemy to know who is about to kill them! Icons and Marks of Chaos on the Knights themselves were picked out in Green also.
